Here at Vigilant Valkyrie we strive to bring connection, support, understanding and resources to the vastly growing community of Female Service Members and Veterans. There are approximately two million Women Veterans who make up 9% of the Veteran Community. (Vetpop/U.S. Census Bureau, 2015) Women Veterans are far underserviced, underrecognized and misunderstood.
With the rapid growth of Women Service Members amongst our ranks, more needs to be done to support these Female Warriors. We have made it our goal to provide a Social Networking platform to not only connect our Sister Veterans but to offer a safe place in which they find comradery, understanding and support. Vigilant Valkyrie brings awareness to the difficulties and challenges that Female Service Members and Female Veterans have faced and continue to face.
Our goal is to meet the needs amongst Veteran Mothers who need assistance in affording and/or finding safe and reliable childcare to attend VA appointments, counseling and other self-care needs. Vigilant Valkyrie is currently working on building an assistance program to meet this need. We also provide resources specifically for Female Veterans relating to several different areas including, housing, financial, medical and much more. As our organization continues to grow, our vision is to build additional programs that will provide specific resources lacking in the Veteran community for Female Veterans. Overall, here at Vigilant Valkyrie we strive to offer fellowship, understanding and support to our fellow Sister Warriors of all branches.
